1. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have become the richest IPL team in 2026, thanks to their historic IPL 2025 title win. This victory might significantly boost their brand value, sponsorship deals, and merchandise sales. RCB’s brand value in 2026 is approximately $269 million (roughly Rs. 2,486 crore), the highest among all IPL teams, making it attractive for equity deals, stake sales, and potential future ownership changes. Why RCB is No. 1:

  • First IPL title in 2025

  • Massive fan base (Virat Kohli effect)

  • Strong presence on digital platform

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) generates money through the same core revenue streams as other IPL teams, but it leverages its massive fan base and brand value more aggressively than most. The main valuation factors are likely to be Virat Kohli’s global brand and loyal fan base, despite past performance and title win impact (huge brand multiplier)

2. Mumbai Indians (MI)

The Mumbai Indians, often referred to as MI, remain the 2nd most successful IPL franchise, boasting unmatched consistency with five consecutive titles. It is one of the richest and most commercially successful teams in the league, setting a high standard both on and off the field.

The MI has been owned by Reliance Industries (led by billionaire Mukesh Ambani) through Indiawin Sports Pvt. Ltd. Its business model is built on central IPL revenue, sponsorships, premium ticket pricing, and global brand extensions. According to CricTracker, revenue increased from Rs. 358.79 cr to Rs. 737 cr between FY23 and FY24, with a net profit of nearly Rs. 109 cr.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) is one of the 3rd most successful and financially strong IPL franchises, with 5 IPL titles. CSK is owned by N. Srinivasan, an MD of India Cement. CSK operates under Chennai Super Kings Cricket Ltd. Its brand value increased from $231M to $235M in 2025 from 2024. Infact wpleague says that CSK was at the top in terms of franchise valuation before RCB won the title in 2025.   Its revenue sources likely come from media rights, sponsorship, merchandise, ticket sales and collaborating with global brands. Why CSK is So Popular:

1. Dhoni Factor: MS Dhoni is not just a captain, but he’s the identity of CSK. He usually acts calm while having pressure and a huge fanbase across India, with the name 'Thalla legacy'.

2. Strong “Yellow Army”: It is likely to be one of the largest fan bases in the IPL, normally called the 'yellow army fanbase'.

3. Smart Team Strategy: The team possibly focusing on experienced players, having strong backup players (even during bad form), and great use of spinners at the Chepauk pitch are some smart strategies.

Some top sponsorship deals of 2026 include Etihad Airways, Gulf Oil-kit, Ashok Leyland and other major partners, such as FedEx, Coca‑Cola, JSW Paints, and Rayzon Solar. Also, various jersey-related brands likely play an important role in the sponsorship of CSK, while contributing to revenue each season.
